North Shore Printers, Inc. certified as Women Owned Business

WAUKEGAN, IL -- Effective April 3, 2001, North Shore Printers, Inc. was certified as a women owned, operated and controlled business by The Women's Business Development Center and The Women's Business Enterprise National Council. North Shore was also certified by the City of Chicago effective April 25, 2001. Both certifications have been renewed on a yearly basis.

Established in Waukegan in 1933, North Shore is a commercial sheet fed offset printer which provides both conventional and digital lithographic services. The company's presses range from 18 inch to 28 inch through 36 inch configured in one through six colors.

Employing 15 professionals full time, North Shore Printers offers prepress (electronic and conventional) and complete binding and finishing capabilities, including fulfillment. Principal operating officers are Charlotte Callahan, President and Amy Callahan, Vice President/Treasurer.

North Shore was founded by James J. Callahan, the grandfather of the present officers. The company has kept its address at 535 S. Sheridan Road in Waukegan for over 50 years. North Shore Printers is the original and, at this point, the only union label printer in Lake County, Illinois.
